Pittsburgh Association of the Deaf (PAD) became a charter club back in 1929 to “encourage wholesome sports, pastime and recreation; exert a wholesome influence upon the conduct of its members; help the Deaf to secure employment, aid in educating the Deaf and maintain a club for the social enjoyment of its members.”
For the most part, PAD continues to convey the same message today.
Greater Pittsburgh Community for the Deaf (GPCCD) is an organization that acts in the best interests of the Deaf community by offering workshops, hosting fundraisers and sponsoring athletic events.
